This four-day, intensive professional learning experience prepares schools and districts to develop a core team of skilled Co-Teaching trainers who can plan and lead a sustainable program of high-quality, research-based inclusive co-teaching practices. Participants will engage in interactive training led by national Co-Teaching experts Yamiley Jean-Simon and A.J. Galli, and will deepen their understanding of how to:

  • design an effective and targeted co-taught service delivery model,

  • Support the specialist teacher’s understanding of specially designed instruction,

  • develop and support intentional co-planning that embeds specially designed instruction into general education curriculum and instructional processes,

  • support co-teacher’s understanding of how to intentionally and effectively structure small group instructional design to maximize having two different teaching experts in the classroom, and

  • guide the school’s/district’s co-teaching trainer team’s ability to develop and implement a sustainable co-teaching professional development model that addresses supervisory support of co-teaching pairs as well as co-teachers’ growth in the science of co-teaching.
